This is a transcription I did in 2009 of this wonderful piece from the Charles Lloyd album "Forest Flower". My dad had this album, and I discovered it and enjoyed it a lot. Charles Lloyd is on tenor, Keith Jarrett is the piano player, Cecil McBee is bass and composer, and Jack DeJohnette is on drums. When I was in about 8th / 9th grade, the local NPR/jazz station had a jazz program on Saturday nights, featuring the DJ "Pres Freeland" (I took that at face value at the time 😀 ). He played this piece as his background music, while he would very slowly give the names and artists of the tracks he was playing.
So in 2009 I was getting into music more, and starting what would be a disastrous experience in the world of work, the Vizuri division of AEM.
Not to throw shade on Vizuri or AEM, but it was not my best work situation. But before it started going south, I discovered I could use
the software Audacity to slow down music without changing the pitch, which is a hugely useful thing for me.
So I made this transcription, such as it is. Apple music is cueing up all these other versions of the song, which are really cool, actually.

Note - the arrangement is really important here. I stopped trying to transcribe after the bridge comes in after the piano solo. It's actually a 32 bar AABA form, although they end with just B and then A.
